The San Miguel School of Providence is excited to announce the appointment of Manuel Ortiz, a 2003 San Miguel graduate, as the school's new Graduate Support Director, effective July 1, 2014.

A 2011 graduate of Providence College, Manny joins the San Miguel staff this summer with new ideas, enthusiasm, and a unique perspective as a San Miguel alum.

"I am grateful for San Miguel and the support it has always provided me throughout the years, and I am excited and eager to work with students, families, and my fellow alumni," said Manny. "I look forward to providing support and serving my San Miguel community in any way it may need me."

As San Miguel enters its 22nd academic year, Manny is the first graduate to return as an employee, an exciting milestone for the school. As Graduate Support Director, Manny will provide support to graduates and their families as they transition into high school, college and the work force, offering guidance and connecting them with resources they may need. As Manny prepares to transition into this new role, he hopes that the program can grow and evolve in order to better meet the needs of San Miguel alumni.

"As Graduate Support Director, I feel that it is my responsibility to create means where alumni can have a voice on how the program can best support them," said Manny. "I hope to build a community where alumni can network, socialize, and give back to the school."

San Miguel is delighted to welcome Manny to his new role and to enter into an exciting new stage of the Graduate Support Program.

"Everyone at the school has welcomed me with open arms," said Manny. "As a San Miguel graduate, it is always a privilege to come back home."
